Infosec Cloud is delighted to have joined the Byte Night Thames Valley Board and is looking forward to supporting Action for Children through the annual Byte Night event taking place on 2nd October 2015.

Each year Byte Night participants sleep rough for one night along with over 1,500 people from the technology industry to raise money for Action for Children. The money is used to support children and young people at risk of homelessness, with the event raising over £1.1m last year alone.

We are now inviting all Thames Valley Technology sector organisations to join us at the Byte Night 2015 launch event:

Thursday 23rd April 2015; registration 6pm, speeches 6:30pm, event close 8:30pm.
Symantec, 350 Brook Drive, Green Park, Reading, Berkshire, RG2 6UH

The evening is free to attend and includes informal networking and inspiring speeches from young people supported by Action for Children, sharing just how vital Byte Night contributions have been in changing their lives. The event will provide potential sleepers with much more information about how the event works, what is involved in sleeping out and where the money raised is targeted.

Matt Ellard, Vice President of Symantec, will also be speaking to share both the business benefits of being involved in Byte Night and his passion for Action for Children.

Reserve your place and extend this invitation to contacts, colleagues and would-be Byte Nighters. We do hope you can join us in this celebration!

Why not join the Thames Valley Board?

In addition, while many Technology and Technology-related organisations generously donate to the cause each year, we are always looking for new people to join the Thames Valley Board. We have monthly meetings in Reading either first thing in the morning or late afternoon, or you can conference call in.

If you are not based in the Thames Valley, we would also like you to get involved. There are sleep-outs all over the UK and launch events for each. You can see a full list of launch events and register to attend here.

If you are interested in the event but not quite sure whether you want to participate or attend the launch evening, please feel free to contact Susan Children by e-mail on [email protected] and she will be happy to chat it through with you.

About Byte Night

Byte Night is the technology industry’s annual ‘sleep out’ in support of Action for Children. Each year hundreds of individuals and teams from across the IT and business community spend a night exposed to the elements in a bid to raise sponsorship and awareness of Action for Children’s work, who focus heavily on supporting homeless young people. It all began 16 years ago when 30 individuals from the IT industry slept out and raised £35,000. Since then the event has grown to over 1500 sleepers taking part each year, raising an amazing £5.2 million since it began. The Thames Valley Byte Night will be taking place Friday 2nd October in Forbury Gardens, Reading and Byte Night is looking for volunteers not only to give up their time and their bed for the night to raise money, but to get a feel for what some people have to go through every day.
