Market-leading email and file encryption solution from Egress Software Technologies recognised by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and Computing Magazine at the prestigious UK IT Industry Awards

In recognition for delivering a unique cloud-based email and file encryption solution, Egress Software Technologies has won ‘Cloud Provider of the Year’ at the 2013 UK IT Industry Awards.

David Clarke MBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS), said: “Congratulations to all the winners and those who were highly commended in the 2013 awards. The Awards recognise the professionalism and innovation that exists in IT. The quality of applications we received this year was excellent, but the winners stood out as exceptional and inspiring, and should be very proud of their success.”

Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing Magazine, commented: “Well done to the winners and those who were highly commended on their achievements. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and truly celebrate innovation and best practice in IT today.”

Commenting on the announcement, Egress Chief Executive Officer Tony Pepper stated: “We are delighted to have won ‘Cloud Provider of the Year’ at the 2013 UK IT Industry Awards. Having won ‘Security Innovation of the Year’ in 2011, we feel this award further endorses the investment we have made in our innovative email and file encryption technology, as well as the excellence of our service delivery to an ever-growing customer base. Coming at the close of a fantastic year for Egress, in which we achieved revenue growth of over 400% and a 95% increase in customers, winning this prestigious award acknowledges our success in providing secure Cloud-based email and file encryption to all business sectors.

“This success has been built on our unique community-based licensing model known as the Egress Trust Network, which allows recipients of Egress Switch packages to communicate securely free of charge with paying subscribers. The Trust Network has grown virally by over 200% to more than one million members in the last 12 months.”

The BCS and Computing award rounds off a successful 2013 for Egress, in which Switch became the only UK Government CPA Foundation Grade Certified email encryption product. This certification makes Switch the only CESG CPA approved product for sharing sensitive data up to IL3 across and outside Government. This provides end-users with the confidence that they are selecting an email encryption product that has been approved by CESG and is capable of protecting their organisation and the data they share from external threats.
